The short answer: No.
The long answer: It depends on exactly what you want to do within the career field of information technology.
Do you want to be a help desk professional, a cyber security expert, a high school teacher or college professor who teaches I.T., a CTO (chief technology officer), a CIO (chief information officer), a CISO (chief information security officer), a computer scientist, a computer engineer of sorts, a coder? It’s all kinds of things one can pursue in the I.T. industry. It’s just a matter of figuring out what you want to do within I.T. and once you figure that out, then you will know if college is a requirement or not.
