This domain will focus on basic networking concepts, including the OSI model, network appliances, applications, cloud concepts, connectivity options and more.
(2.0) Network Implementation will make up 20% of the exam
This domain will focus on routing technologies & important factors of physical installations; configuring switching technologies and wireless devices.
(3.0) Network Operations will make up 19% of the exam
This domain will focus monitoring & optimizing networks to ensure business continuity.
(4.0) Network Security will make up 14% of the exam
This domain will focus on understanding security concepts & network attacks to harden networks against threats.
(5.0) Network Troubleshooting will make up 24% of the exam
This domain will focus on the troubleshooting methodology & address common issues related to networking, including cable, connectivity, and software problems.
CompTIA Network+ N10-009 Exam Details
The CompTIA Network+ N10-009, which is the latest & greatest exam version, was launched June 20, 2024.
At the time of this posting, CompTIA has not scheduled a retirement date for this exam, but normally 3 years after the launch of an exam is when you can expect for that exam to be officially retired so they can begin introducing the latest version.
The exam has a maximum of 90 questions.
The questions are presented as multiple choice and performance-based.
The exam has a 90-minute time limit.
In order to pass the CompTIA Network+ N10-009 exam, you will need to score 720 out of a possible 900 points (80%) on the exam.
It is recommended by CompTIA that a candidate be CompTIA A+ certified and have at least 9 to 12 months of hands-on experience working in a junior network administrator/network support technician role.
The exam is available in English, Japanese, German, Spanish, & Portuguese.
The company that is responsible for administering the test is Pearson VUE Testing Centers.
